For Renters

Are stored items insured?
We recommend you purchase or confirm your homeowners or renters insurance to ensure your property is covered. These policies often cover your property stored outside of your home in event of theft of damage.
It is your responsibility to take inventory of items you put into storage. This information is necessary when making a claim for damage or theft.
What are acceptable items in storage? 
As long as the host is OK with it, you can store pretty much anything EXCEPT:
• "Inherently dangerous" materials, including gasoline, compressed gas, propane tanks, kerosene, lamp and motor oil, acid, grease, corrosives, fertilizer, paint, cleaners, chemicals, narcotics, or hazardous, toxic or biological waste; asbestos or products containing asbestos, fireworks, explosives, weapons or ammunition.
• Radioactive equipment - or anything that contains radioactive materials.
• Perishable food products
• Any animals or plants - alive or dead.
• Stolen or illegal items.
• Anything host has deemed inappropriate to be stored on host's property.
For your protection, we also do not recommend storing items with a collective value over $10,000 (excluding automobiles) or anything of significant sentimental or monetary value.

What happens after I make a reservation request?
After you make a request, the host has 48 hours to respond. If your request is accepted, we will process your payment and email you a receipt with additional details about the listing. We encourage you to contact your host first prior to making a reservation request.
If host declines your request, you will not be charged at all. To ensure you find a suitable space ahead of time needed, we encourage you to contact multiple hosts prior to making a reservation. You may also make reservation requests on multiple listings to increase your chance of securing a space.
How do I access my stored items?
Availability is set by host and viewable on the listing detail page and calendar. A space can be:
• Full Access – host will give you a key, fob, PIN code, or garage door opener so you may access items whenever you want.
• Limited Access - you may access items with advanced notice given to and coordinate with the host.
• No Access - you will only have access to items on day of retrieval.
How do I cancel a reservation? 
We understand that situations change. If your reservation did not work out, contact us immediately. We will happily refund any cancellations with sufficient reason. For more information on our cancellation policy, see our Terms & Conditions.
How long can I rent a space for? 
As long or short as you want! We support both short and long-term rentals. Rental duration is between you and the host. Nevertheless the contrat of location has to be renewed every year (365 days).
What if I need to send someone else, like a mover, to drop off or pick up my items?
We understand that often it is the moving company who drops off or picks up the items from storage. If this is the case, please just make sure to let the host know in advance whom to expect.
What kinds of payment can I use? 
We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, JCB, Discover, and Diners Club.
What if a host asks for a check?
Hosts should never ask for a monthly check/wire/cash etc. If you are asked to pay outside of the YesWeStock platform, please contact us immediately at

What type of space can I rent out?
You can rent out any type of extra space you have, including but never limited to garages, warehouses, closets, basements, spare rooms, attics, hallways, backyards, cupboards or crawl spaces. As long as it is your space to rent out, the possibilities are endless.
How much should I charge?
Click HERE for a suggested pricing chart. For first time hosts, we highly recommend pricing your space competitively in order to build up positive reviews. Please make sure to properly fill out your profile and verify your contact information, as it greatly increases your credibility.
What are my responsibilities and obligations?
Hosts are never obligated to accept a request, however, a timely response is appreciated. Reservation requests expire in 48 hours or by midnight of start date for requests with less than 48 hours lead time.
Once renter's items are in host's possession, United Kingdom laws state that host has the responsibility to keep items in their care safe, and secure.
Can I inspect renter's items?
For the safety of both parties, host may inspect contents prior to accepting storage. We also recommend taking documentation for personal records.
If renter refuses to disclose stored items, host may refuse acceptance and cancel the reservation. If this occurs, please contact us immediately and we will help resolve the situation, or provide alternatives.
How do I cancel or decline a reservation? 
Pending reservations can be declined on the User Dashboard > Your listing > My booking requests.
If you need to cancel an on-going reservation, contact us immediately. We ask that you coordinate with the renter to arrange for retrieval of belongings.

What if renter damages my property?
Renters are responsible for damages. However, host should try to be present to facilitate handoffs.
Additionally, consider getting a homeowner’s or renter’s insurance plan. It is a low-cost way to protect yourself and is highly recommended.

What is the payment schedule like?
Rental fees are charged and paid on the actual move in day. If month to month, payments are made at the beginning of the rental period, and every 1st of the month. If the rental is less than one month, charges will be pro-rated for the time used.
How will I get paid? 
Deposits are directly deposited into your bank account. No checks to deposit. No need to remind your renter for monthly checks.
What if I want to charge a security deposit?
Hosts are allowed to charge a security deposit, for example, a £50 for a garage door opener to be returned when the opener is returned. You can use our security deposit tool to set up autocatically a security deposit when you rent your space, you can find the option there Dashboard > Your listing > Modify > Other . Please contact for advice on security deposits.
What happens to abandoned property?
In the event that a renter’s payment method ceases to work, YesWeStock will make multiple attempts to contact the renter and do our best to troubleshoot the issue.
Should all proper channels of contact fail, and we do not hear from the renter within 30 days of the first delinquent payment, their property will be considered abandoned, and will be removed, donated, recycled or sold by one of our partners.
Please do not ever handle or remove a delinquent renter’s items by yourself, as doing so may cause potential legal issues. Always contact for assistance.

What if my county requires me to pay a parking tax?
You are responsible for paying any applicable taxes to your local government. Tax laws differ by county, and not all counties charge a tax. Be sure to check with your local government to see what, if any taxes apply to you, and for instructions on how to register for and pay your taxes.
